A Review of Recent Studies of Microcystis Using FlowCam
This webinar presents a talk given by Savannah Judge at a NALMS conference.
Several techniques can be used to detect Microcystis. One such technique is flow-imaging microscopy, which combines the principles of light microscopy with automated imaging in-flow with instruments like the FlowCam.
Savannah delivers an overview of the FlowCam technology, summarizes key studies that reflect how flow-imaging microscopy has historically been used to study Microcystis, and reflects on the benefits and limitations of flow-imaging microscopy for studying Microcystis and other colonial organisms like it.
